Changes to the server: Removing some plugins, changing some recommendations

This server has been running in some form for over 15 years, but at this point it's just a family server. Now with updates coming 4x a year, the overhead of keeping things running is a pain, so I want to make some changes that will result in changes in access to the server. In principle that sucks, but in essence, the number of people this impacts is like 0.

Plugins:

  • We are removing GriefPrevention. It's not been changed in YEARS, no one really steals, if they did I have backups every 15 minutes and can roll anything back, and most importantly, it makes problems. Stuff can't be interacted with in weird ways. Because of this, we're removing the addons to bluemap and essentials as well.
  • We are removing Geyser and Floodgate, which allow Bedrock players to join. I'm not sure it ever worked, no one uses it, and it's a pain to maintain. Include the bluemap component.
  • Vivecraft (lets you play from a VR helmet) never worked, hasn't been updated, and is basically not worth the effort.
  • Matterbukkit is on notice. It's used for the mumble bridge, which no one uses, but I am stubborn about needing an open source chat alternative to Discord.
  • PlugManX is a plugin I'm adding to make reloading plugins easier, as paper doesn't support it

Resourcepack:

  • I can't maintain backwards compatability anymore, it's too much testing and it impacts no one; I have the old ones somewhere I could keep but WHY.

Mods:

  • Logical Zoom may not be updating anymore, we're moving to recommend WI zoom
  • We officially recommend No Chat Restrictions, which stops the requirement to age verify when chatting. There are elementary school kids playing with their friends here, and I can police the chat myself.
  • Health Indicators appears to be dead, I'm experimenting with Provi's Health Bars. This removes the dependency on Architectury API and Yet Another Config Library.
