World Corruption Error

THe server is running in a blank world on my test machine right now. Why? Read below! Feel free to fuck around in this dummy map.

Unstable bukkit is causing dramatic world corruption errors. Working on a fix, may take some time, we'll be offline for a while. CHeck here for updates.

Since everyone deserves more info: Bukkit is having a problem where the cached chunk isn't getting written to the save, so it's reloading from the save, with the wrong coords, then writing that back. That's balls. So there's a utility to fix this, linked here: Fenixin which I am running...which on a world our size oculd take HOURS.

UPDATE: After like 32 hours, I got the following result:

Then, I booted it up, logged in...and got this:

Right back where we started, broken chunks. I don't know what to do, elite base is all fucked. It's for sure the beta bukkit. I think what'll have to happen is when RB comes out, we'll have to run this again and re-try to fix it...until then I'll look at manually editing the region files to fix it since the coords ARE there, pulling from a backup from like Nov 5. I'm sorry this is happening, and there's no clean fix for it.

I'm gonna try one more thing...in case that backup # 1000 had the bad chunk errors already written, I'm gonna run this one more time with the oldest backup we have, see if it fixes it. Stay tuned...I figured how to multi-thread it so it'll go faster.

The New Sign (for now) :D

New Internet

from 10-12 PST on today, 11/28/12, the server will likely be down as my internet is upgraded to business class. Check here for updates; spread the word.

UPDATE: the dude is still working now at about 2PM pst...my ssh connection just died, so I assume we're down?

A STORM APPROACHES

You fools.

For some time now I, surfrock66, have secretly been researching and practicing in the dark arts of ownership. I have gained power and grown stronger, secretly building my kingdom and pulling the puppet strings as you all laughably live out your little lives. Occasionally one of you pawns discovered my identity; I struck them down with little more than a thought. However, one grew stronger than I had expected, and much like harry potter to my voldemort, his death left a scar on my castle and a tale in our dialogue. No matter, it is a trivial occurrence and as such is subject to my control.

Now, it appears that thanks to Omo, this tale has been discovered through the chant "/surf", and my identity has been made public. No matter. Though 3 great nations have risen up, their division is their undoing and once again I am the true ruler of the land. Now...prepare yourselves for an eternity of torture as you are all my slaves...Velvet_Winter, or pirate as you may know him, is now my slave, reborn under the identity of the demon surfrock666. A storm approaches...and I am here to reign terror and destruction down onto you all.

But you are no ordinary man, you come with the conviction of vengeance for thousands of wrongs, a vengence stoking the fire of your soul and empowering you to overcome even what the stories conjured by your predecessors could not imagine. It is before you know it that the obsidian monument is before you, visible over the last hill. Your heart races as you enter the castle; empty of all floors, seemingly deserted. In the corner, a spiral staircase, you ascend. Another empty floor, what is this? Up, and up, and up, you traverse many floors, each as the last but slightly larger. Your wind escapes you as you finally reach the top floor, and then you see him. A non-descript man, sitting atop his throne, in front of an empty banquet table, by himself, looking directly at you with eyes not of fear or anger, but dismissal. Now is your chance! You adeptly jump forward, one foot off of the front table, up the path, onto the higher tier, only steps ahead and your bloodlust can be fulfilled...suddenly, you're stopped cold. Without even moving, somehow his magic has removed your weapon, your clothes, your food and potions, you are stripped naked.
