Dammit. The megagrinder is working wonderfully. Too wonderfully. The rate of mob spawning is off the chain, and all items are getting where they need to go. Carefully. In masterfully designed channels. Which endermen hate.

So when the endermen take out a block at the bottom of a channel, it makes a waterfall that cascades down. When this happens, the mob drop channels get stuck and the mobs don't die. Thousands of them. Causing unfixable lag.

That's happening on every floor, in all of the 9 holes. By my count, there's roughly 1600 mobs stuck in the grinder right now. I will continue to use creative mode to repair it...until endermen are nerfed per notch's design. SORRY!

MINECRAFT 1.0 IS COMING OUT THIS WEEK! Can you believe it? Personally, I've been with this server since September 2010, and some people have been here longer :o.

First, let me say this. No matter what, the current main map will still be around. I've personally spent almost a year building there, it's not gonna POOF go away. However, we have an opportunity with 1.0...We could move Main world to another world (like Legacy_2.0_Map) ans make Main World fresh, or continue on the path we have with Update World and keep new chunks there. Also, we could create a more permanant Update world called like 1.0 World, which is like update world but we won't reset it (so, in theory, since update world will still be there, there would be 2 Minecraft 1.0 Maps). Vote on that below.

EVEN THOUGH this is 1.0...we're still following the normal update procedures. We won't be updating the server until bukkit is ready to go. I think this won't be an issue...most people will play single player for a while (I actually expect multiplayer attendance to DROP while ppl play single player, then shoot up when veterans come back after beating single player and being interested in the game again.) Make sure to back up your game files so you can go between versions.

LAST THING: No matter what, update world will be reset. Get your stuff out of there. THIS IS YOUR DUE WARNING! Spread the word about that.

It was just an average day on teh3l3m3nts... I was working on my Sky Coaster, and Kirby was collecting stuff from the mob grinder. All of the sudden, Kirby told me to go to the grinder, so I did. This is what I saw:

LOOKIT! A SQUID!

The mob grinder spawned a squid! Isn't this the best thing ever? I mean, what are the odds? Well, I'm off to kill the squid now. Just thought you guys would like this!

UPDATE:

Apparently, it spawns squids a LOT. Sometimes it even gets glitchy and tentacles start reaching out of the walls.

Hello everyone rtkermit here, the full game of minecraft is coming out very soon. So as you know we have multiple maps, one of them is the update map, that every time an update comes out we update the map to the latest version. Since this will be the final big update in minecraft we can move to the update world without losing our work. This does not mean you will have to abandon the current map we use, that will actually still be our main world. I wanted to get a list together of people who will help me create the new spawn in the update world. So if you could please just comment and say that you want to help and any ideas you have.
