1.4 is out! Read about it here. What does this mean for us? ALL COMMANDS AND PLUGINS ARE BROKEN. Here's the order of events:

1. Bukkit will need to be updated. Timeframe unknown, ask them, they assume hours or days
2. Updated bukkit will have to be installed...that's at the mercy of our server.
3. Each plugin will be tested and will likely be somewhat broken. As they're fixed, we'll activate them
4. Once plugins are active, we need to make sure our configs aren't broke.

So that's the deal, no need to keep asking, clearly most of the wait is on the end of the coders and we're at their mercy. As soon as something is available we'll get it goin.

6. No griefing. and yes, I know what you're thinking and the DOES count as griefing

12. Don't ask if there are any girls on this server. You are playing minecraft and you like it. As a reiteration of rule 1, get used to it

All of these rules boil down into two simple ones
Rule 1. there are no rules!!!

Rule 2. No outside food or drink

We resolved some issues:

• People in the "Members," "Admins," and "Owners" groups can now go into the nether at will. The command /world will bring you to the spawn point inside or outside the nether...depending on which you're currently in.
• For a while, only ops could place liquids. I think we have that ironed out.
• Permissions should be tied to op/non-op, and they were. I think I've fully untangled them, and permissions should now be FULLY working correctly. Let me know if there are any command issues left, I'll fix 'em.

As most already probably know, gorghoppurr has been promoted to Owner status.  freddiekclarke and EpicBlob have both been promoted to Admins. Just wanted to get the word out, and let everyone know to say congrats and keep this server awesome as usual, to make the learning easier for them. Congrats guys!

What a week folks! Obsidian died, we moved to a new hosting company, we got bukkit installed and painstakingly configured its setup, got our most recent backup restored, and are off and running! Here's a list of stuff you need to know:

We've officially committed to the new domain name, www.teh3l3m3nts.com, for this website and the server address (you still need to add the port to the server address in minecraft, so mc.teh3l3m3nts.com:1489).

We've set up the permission structure based on groups, and you can see the official list of commands per-group in the spreadsheet linked to on the sidebar. To see what group you're in, type /list.

Our map got uploaded, but we lost like 3 days of work from the last backup I downloaded. At this point it's been a week since any of us have worked on it, so hopefully it isn't too much of a shock :(

We'll be better about making backups public, you can see the link to the backup AND it's age on the sidebar. They're hosted to my (surf) dropbox in the public folder, so I'm not too concerned about data-loss. They're like 900MB, but whatev.

With the new control of the permissions and such, we're finally gonna list the server and see if we can't get some new players in. Hopefully we'll meet some cool people and get some epic structures going.
